What you see is what you get:
A royal palace - rebuilt by the citizens of Berlin - boasting a beautiful baroque-style facade incorporating the famous Schlüterhof and, of course,the "Kings Lodgings" in the Renaissance-part of the building at the Spree-site. This latter part will be converted into a first class hotel. The financing for this project is coming exclusively from the private sector.

The castle/palace is planned to be the biggest (tourist) attraction in Berlin, with a wide range of quality shops, restaurants and even a Business Centre. Around the Eosanderhof area there will be museums and special event rooms. Overall, the building will boast an aura of opulence and style that will be the envy of Germany.

The decision of the German Parliament was positive. A building in the measurements of the Royal Palace should be rebuilt and have at least at three sides baroques styles. The Palast der Republik of the former GDR will be demolished.

The base of this decision is the final report of the international expert commission. For more information click on the website of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing .

At the moment the Federal Government examines in another task group together with the Federal state Berlin the practicability of the proposals made by the expert commission. Independent from the results of this exam different organisations are already planning the rebuilding of the Royal Castle.
